A YouTuber who exposed the rude treatment she received while visiting a famous restaurant in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province alone reported that she has received an apology from the restaurant.


On July 22, YouTuber A posted in her YouTube channel community, "I'm posting this late at night because I wanted to quickly inform those who were curious," and added, "I received an apology from the restaurant in the evening."


She said, "After receiving the apology, I had many mixed thoughts and emotions," and continued, "It was overwhelming and difficult to deal with the large number of media inquiries and the unexpected level of attention and interest." She added, "I think the restaurant must have felt the same way," and explained, "The restaurant sent me a sincere apology by email, and the message contained their heartfelt regret and the concerns they had been struggling with."

A stated, "Since they have sincerely apologized, I do not wish to continue this confrontation," emphasizing, "I want to bring this matter to a close here." She continued, "I will not forget the gratitude I feel toward those who offered warm words of comfort to a stranger like me, recalling their own experiences of dining alone or unpleasant incidents at popular tourist destinations. I will strive to show you an even better version of myself. Thank you."


The controversy began on July 3, when the YouTuber uploaded a video showing herself being scolded and humiliated by the owner while visiting a well-known restaurant in Yeosu. In the video, after being told that a single serving was not available, she ordered two servings and, with the restaurant's permission, began filming. However, during her meal, she was pressured to eat quickly.


After the video was released, outrage spread online, with posts such as "I will never travel to Yeosu again" appearing. As the controversy grew, Yeosu City took action by visiting the restaurant for an on-site inspection and sending official notices to local restaurants urging courteous service. The restaurant also eventually posted a handwritten apology, stating, "We are sorry for causing trouble," and promising, "From now on, we will greet customers with kindness and warmth."
