The National Asian Culture Complex (ACC) announced on the 23rd that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Cheongju Craft Biennale Organizing Committee on the 22nd at the Cheongju Culture Factory to promote mutual cooperation in the field of craft cultural arts and to expand international networks.

This agreement was established to ensure the successful hosting of "Asia Culture Week," organized by the ACC as a bridge for Asian cultural exchange, and the "2025 Cheongju Craft Biennale," which represents K-craft. Under the agreement, the two institutions will actively cooperate in the following areas: revitalizing the exchange of cultural and artistic content; providing mutual support for human and material resources for exhibitions, education, and performances; building international cultural and artistic networks; and facilitating on-site visits and exchanges among working-level staff. Through these efforts, they will share the diversity and creativity of Asian culture and arts in both Gwangju and Cheongju.

First, on September 27-28, more than 30 Asian artists participating in "Asia Culture Week" will visit Cheongju to view the "2025 Cheongju Craft Biennale" and take part in the Jitgi Project and the craft market, where they will showcase their works. Then, during "Asia Culture Week," which will be held from October 1-4, artists and officials from the Cheongju Craft Biennale will visit the ACC to promote the event and participate in the market.

Byun Kwangseop, Executive Director of the Cheongju Craft Biennale Organizing Committee, stated, "This agreement will serve as a foundation for Cheongju, a world craft city, to further strengthen its network with Asian countries. We will continue to communicate closely and cooperate with the ACC to jointly develop Asian craft culture and arts."

Kim Sangwook, Director of the National Asian Culture Complex, said, "With this agreement, I hope that the 26 years of history, archives, and domestic and international networks built by the Cheongju Craft Biennale will be organically connected with the ACC's initiatives. I look forward to the ACC and the Cheongju Craft Biennale growing together as a hub of the Asian international network."
