Polaris Office Supplies Web Office Solution to LBox AI Case Law Search Platform, Leading Public Sector AI Transformation

On July 23, Polaris Office announced that it will supply its web office solution to LBox, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based legal tech company, accelerating digital transformation in the legal sector and expanding into the public legal tech market.

Through this collaboration, an environment has been created where AI-generated legal documents can be quickly edited and utilized. As a result, the Polaris Office web office has become the first case to serve as core infrastructure in the public legal tech sector.

The solution enables all document-related tasks?from creation and editing to storage and distribution?to be processed in real time within a web environment. Its high compatibility, supporting various standard formats such as Word and Hangul, is also regarded as a key differentiator.

Accordingly, LBox platform users can now view and edit documents directly in their browsers without installing any additional programs. This provides a much faster workflow and a more intuitive user experience compared to previous methods.

LBox is a legal tech startup founded in 2019 by Lee Jin, a former member of Kim & Chang law firm, and holds the largest database of court rulings in Korea. With its proprietary AI case law search solution, 'LBox AI,' the company automates repetitive document tasks within public institutions for legal professionals such as judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and police officers, and supports the AI transformation (AX) of public organizations.

Recently, LBox has accelerated its growth by successfully raising 30 billion KRW in Series C funding?the largest in Korea's legal tech industry?from global investment firm Legend Capital and others. The company has also expanded its activities by signing a business agreement with KT to further target the public AX market.

As cloud-based document solutions become deeply rooted in various industries, document workflow innovation linked with AI is expected to accelerate further in the future.

A Polaris Office representative stated, "Web office technology has already been reliably validated across a range of industries including education, IT services, and the public sector," adding, "This web office supply contract with LBox is a representative example of document-based AX that meets the public legal tech market's requirements for practicality, scalability, and security."

The representative continued, "By providing a UI and UX familiar to Word and Hangul users, while also delivering lightweight design optimized for the cloud, robust security, and high-speed document compatibility, we have implemented all the core competitive features for digital transformation. This legal tech collaboration will once again prove the potential for expansion in the public AX market."

Meanwhile, Polaris Office, as the largest shareholder of Polaris Seawon?a company specializing in automotive air conditioning parts?is actively pursuing a 'vertical AI' strategy to expand specialized AI and software ecosystems across its affiliates in various industries. Recently, the company has also been in the process of acquiring HandySoft, a leading provider of groupware solutions for public institutions.
