National Assembly Agriculture and Fisheries Committee Adopts Confirmation Report for Oceans Minister Nominee Jeon Jae Su by Bipartisan Agreement

The confirmation hearing report for Jeon Jae Su, nominee for Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, was adopted on July 23.

The National Assembly's Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans and Fisheries Committee held a plenary meeting on this day and passed the agenda to adopt the confirmation hearing report for the nominee. The report was processed without disagreement between the ruling and opposition parties.

As a result, four nominees whose confirmation hearing reports have not been adopted after their hearings are Kang Sun Woo, nominee for Minister of Gender Equality and Family; Kwon O Eul, nominee for Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs; Ahn Gyu Baek, nominee for Minister of National Defense; and Chung Dong Young, nominee for Minister of Unification.

For three nominees?Jung Sung Ho for Minister of Justice, Chung Eun Kyung for Minister of Health and Welfare, and Kim Young Hoon for Minister of Employment and Labor?the reports were adopted through a vote led by the ruling party due to opposition from the People Power Party.

Choi Hwi Young, nominee for Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Kim Yoon Deok, nominee for Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, are each scheduled to have their confirmation hearings on July 29.
