Governor Guinmo Koo of Geochang County Visits Flood-Damaged Sites in Hapcheon and Sancheong to Offer Support

Providing Relief Supplies Worth 10 Million Won
for Flood-Damaged Areas

On July 23, Geochang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it had provided relief supplies worth a total of 10 million won to flood-damaged areas in Hapcheon County and Sancheong County, which suffered significant damage due to record-breaking torrential rains.


Governor Koo visited the Sancheong-eup Administrative Welfare Center (Flood Damage Integrated Support Headquarters), the site of residential flooding recovery in Samjang-myeon, Sancheong County, and the on-site command center at Hapcheon County Office in succession to inspect the damage. He offered words of comfort to residents and expressed encouragement and gratitude to recovery personnel for their hard work.

The snack sets delivered on this occasion consisted of bread, soy milk, canned coffee, and energy bars, and were provided to both Sancheong County and Hapcheon County. These items were prepared to help supplement basic nutrition for disaster victims and relieve fatigue among recovery workers.


In particular, snacks were personally delivered to about 20 Geochang County officials deployed at the recovery site in Samjang-myeon, Sancheong County. Governor Koo boosted morale by stating, "Your dedication is the driving force behind the region's recovery."


Governor Guinmo Koo said, "I sincerely offer my heartfelt condolences to the residents of neighboring local governments who are going through difficult times due to the unexpected flood damage," and added, "Geochang County will continue to provide recovery support based on solidarity and cooperation between regions."


Meanwhile, the county has formed a recovery support team of about 20 people and has been assisting at the heavily damaged sites in Sancheong County since July 21.
