24 Teams from Around the World to Compete... Largest Tournament Ever
Total Prize Pool of $500,000... Special Performances Including Aespa
Krafton announced on July 23 that it will hold the PUBG: Battlegrounds esports national competition, the PUBG Nations Cup (PNC) 2025.
PNC 2025 will be the largest edition in the tournament's history. The competition period has been extended from the previous three days to five days, and the number of participating teams has increased from 16 to 24. Eight teams, including South Korea, will advance directly to the Final Stage starting on July 25 based on their results from last year's tournament, while the remaining 16 teams will begin their journey in the Survival Stage.
The South Korean national team, which won consecutive championships in the 2023 and last year's tournaments, will be led by coach Kim Sungmin, also known as 'Pllike.' The roster includes Woo Jaehyun ('Salute'), Cho Giyeol ('Seoul'), Shim Gyumin ('Gyumin'), and Kim Jongmyung ('Reining').
This year's tournament will feature six matches each day for a total of 30 matches. Rankings will be determined by the combined total of kill points and placement points earned in all matches. The total prize pool is set at a base amount of $500,000 (approximately 690 million KRW). In addition, a portion of the revenue from winner prediction event items will be added and distributed to participating teams based on their final rankings.
To commemorate the tournament, Krafton will set up the 'PUBG Nations Lounge' in the outdoor area of the venue from July 25 to 27. The lounge will display the trophy to be awarded to the winning team, uniforms of all 24 participating teams, and bulletproof helmets decorated in each team's representative colors. There will also be an on-site fan signing event with some of the players participating in the tournament.
Special performances will be held during the Final Stage. On July 25, the beatbox group 'Beatpella House' will perform, and on July 27, the global artist 'Aespa' will present a stage for their collaborative track with Battlegrounds, 'Dark Arts.'
Online events will also be held, offering commemorative skins and various items to viewers who watch PNC 2025 matches via the official Battlegrounds Chzzzik and SOOP channels. Notably, during the Final Stage, the limited-time 'Aespa Emote' item will also be available.
All PNC 2025 matches will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on the official Battlegrounds Esports YouTube, Chzzzik, SOOP, and Naver TV channels. Further details can be found on the official website.
