Satirical Takes on Social Issues Like the SK Telecom Hacking Incident
The graduation photos of students from Uijeongbu High School in Gyeonggi Province have been released. Every year, the school's graduation photos attract attention for featuring trending figures and current issues. This year, students parodied Bang Sihyuk, chairman of HYBE, BJ Gwajeupseyeon, singer Kwon Eunbi, Samyang Foods Buldak Bokkeummyeon, and the SK Telecom hacking incident.

On July 21, Uijeongbu High School's student council posted a message titled "2025 Uijeongbu High School Graduation Photos" on Instagram, unveiling the students' graduation photos.
The most attention-grabbing photos this year are those parodying Chairman Bang Sihyuk and BJ Gwajeupseyeon. These two became notable last year after being spotted in Los Angeles, United States. The students recreated the scene where they were accidentally captured in a YouTuber's video at the time.
One student recreated singer Kwon Eunbi, who was dubbed the "Waterbomb Goddess." The student precisely imitated Kwon Eunbi's recent Waterbomb festival outfit, including denim shorts, a white bikini, and a red checkered shirt.
Another student dressed up as "Hochi," the mascot character of Buldak Bokkeummyeon, which recently became a "blue-chip stock" after its stock price surpassed 1 million won. The student wore a white bodysuit and yellow bottoms to portray Hochi.
Some students also satirized social issues. One student held an SK Telecom logo in one hand and painted their face to resemble a USIM chip. This appears to be a satire of the social chaos caused by the SK Telecom hacking incident and the so-called "USIM crisis."
There was also a student dressed as Baekbeom Kim Gu, holding a copy of "Baekbeomilji" for the photo. In addition, some students stood out by wearing costumes of independence activists from the Japanese colonial period.
Online commenters responded positively, saying that this year's graduation photos were once again delightful. One commenter said, "Looking at the graduation photos, it seems like the entire student body participates, so there probably isn't any bullying. I look forward to these photos every year, and they always bring me joy."
