Home appliances that have improved efficiency through artificial intelligence (AI) technology are gaining popularity among consumers. Products from Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have proven this by sweeping the '2025 Korea Green Product of the Year' awards, which are chosen directly by consumers. In particular, LG Electronics set a record for the most awards with 13 products selected, and also became the company with the longest consecutive wins, maintaining its streak for 16 years.

According to the electronics industry on July 23, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics had 10 and 13 products selected, respectively, as the '2025 Korea Green Product of the Year,' organized by the nonprofit civic group Green Purchase Network. The environmental improvement effects of the products were directly evaluated and selected by both experts and consumers, with about 300 panelists participating in assessments across seven regions nationwide.

For Samsung Electronics, 10 products including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, TVs, and smartphones from the 'Bespoke AI' lineup were selected. For LG Electronics, brands such as Dios, Whisen, and PuriCare performed well, with 13 products including refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, and air purifiers dominating the home appliance category. LG Electronics not only won the most awards this year, but also broke the industry record for the longest consecutive wins by being selected for 16 years in a row.

Samsung Electronics' 'Galaxy Book5 Pro' received the Popularity Award, which is given to products that receive the highest number of votes among the Green Products of the Year, making the company a double award winner. The main products from both companies were recognized for improving efficiency with AI technology. Not only did they enhance user convenience, but they also improved power efficiency with AI technology, which led to a substantial reduction in actual energy consumption.
