On July 22, Hampyeong County in Jeonnam announced that it will operate a free travel program for residents in tourism blind spots.

The county is recruiting participants for the "2025 Hampyeong County Happy Travel Support Project" for tourism-vulnerable groups until August 6. This program provides free travel opportunities to disadvantaged groups who face difficulties in traveling due to physical or economic circumstances.

Each participant will receive a travel package worth 180,000 won. In the case of persons with disabilities, a companion may join, and they can receive a package worth up to 360,000 won in total.

Eligibility is limited to low-income residents or persons with disabilities aged six or older who are registered as residents of Hampyeong County. Applicants must be recipients of basic livelihood security, belong to the second-lowest income bracket, or be members of single-parent families.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Those wishing to participate should bring their ID and apply at the eup or myeon office corresponding to their address. Further details can be found in the notices section of the Hampyeong County website.

County Governor Lee Sangik stated, "I hope that residents who have not been able to travel easily due to physical or economic circumstances will have the opportunity to recharge and regain vitality," adding, "We will continue to develop various programs to realize tourism welfare for disadvantaged groups."
