The period from mid-July to mid-August is the hottest time of the year, and it is when the number of customers visiting department stores increases. In fact, during this period, Lotte Department Store's food division recorded a growth of more than 20% compared to the same period last year.
In response, Lotte Department Store plans to actively target summer dining demand by introducing a variety of summer-exclusive menus, ranging from seasonal desserts to health-boosting dishes, and by offering prizes and discounts to customers who purchase food and beverages (F&B).
First, Lotte Department Store is holding the "F&B 10% Discount Voucher Hunt" event. By using their mobile phone cameras to scan QR posters placed throughout the stores, customers can receive a 10% discount voucher (a 3,000 won discount on purchases of 30,000 won or more, limited to the first 5,000 issued each day) to use at F&B outlets, on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are also plenty of prize events. Customers who purchase F&B products during the event period, accumulate L.Points, and then click the "Enter" button on the prize event page within the Lotte Department Store app will be automatically entered into the prize draw. The first, second, and third prize winners will receive, respectively: ▲L.Points worth 5 million won ▲an iPad Air 13 and L.Points worth 400,000 won ▲AirPods Max and L.Points worth 220,000 won. In addition, 200 entrants will be randomly selected to receive L.Points worth 10,000 won. The winners will be announced on September 10 via the Lotte Department Store app.
For customers looking for special summer dishes, renowned restaurants from across the country will be featured. At Jamsil Lotte World Mall, customers can enjoy seasonal menus such as "Seoryeong," a Pyongyang cold noodle restaurant selected by the 2025 Michelin Guide, and the "Signature 6-Course" (55,000 won) featuring seasonal ingredients from the Korean fine dining restaurant "Confier Selection."
At the Incheon branch, summer menus designed to restore appetite and energy will be introduced. "Banryongsan" will offer Gangwon-style buckwheat noodles and Hamheung cold noodles, while "Jinjeonbok Samgyetang" will serve rich and deep-flavored health food made with domestic abalone and chicken. In addition, the "Gourmet Week" page within the Lotte Department Store app features dining curation to help customers easily choose meals according to their preferences, making menu selection more convenient.
There will also be a variety of seasonal dessert pop-up stores. From July 25 to 31, a pop-up store for "Pamcy," a New Zealand fresh fruit ice cream specialty brand, will be held on the basement first floor of the Jamsil branch. Pamcy is a brand that prepares fresh ice cream by blending ingredients chosen by customers on the spot, and it is highly popular as a local favorite in Pangyo. At the "Yogobrick" pop-up on the basement first floor of the main store, customers can enjoy zero-sugar yogurt bark made by rapidly freezing plain yogurt on a -20 degree Celsius steel plate until August 17. In addition, from July 25 to August 3, the "Lotte Hotel & Resort" pop-up will be held on the basement second floor of the Busan main store, offering dessert menus that reinterpret the luxurious dining experiences available exclusively at Lotte Hotels.
Park Sangwoo, Head of Business Strategy at Lotte Department Store, stated, "This summer gourmet festival 'Gourmet Week' has been prepared to invigorate the palates and energy of customers weary from the heat," and added, "We hope for much interest and participation from our customers, as we have prepared a variety of practical benefits."
