The Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety concluded sanitary and quarantine negotiations with the EU for the export of ready-to-eat chicken products, officially opening the export route in the second half of last year. In response, BBQ carefully reviewed local demand in Europe and, through ongoing discussions with Highland Food Group, which has strong quality competitiveness, proceeded with product production and took its first step in exports.

BBQ plans to begin full-scale exports starting with three types of ready-to-eat products made from domestic chicken breast and tenderloin, and intends to expand its product lineup in the future.

A BBQ representative stated, "It is very meaningful that the export route for domestically produced chicken products to the European market has opened and that BBQ is taking a leading role in entering this market." The representative also said, "We will actively utilize chicken breast and tenderloin, which have low domestic consumption, to expand exports and help alleviate difficulties faced by domestic poultry farmers."

Meanwhile, on this day, BBQ held a quarantine sealing ceremony and a shipment commemorative event at the Highland Innovation complex manufacturing and logistics center in Changwon. The event was attended by key executives and employees from BBQ and Highland Food Group, as well as officials from the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
