Final Selection of Projects to Be Made
Through Deliberation by the Hometown Love Fund Management Review Committee
On July 22, Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province announced a nationwide call for ideas for the "2026 Hometown Love Fund Project" in order to utilize donations collected through the Hometown Love Donation Program in a more meaningful and valuable way.
Submissions can be made through the "Gukmin Saenggakham" platform of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, or via the Sacheon City Hall website (the city's official website) under the "Information Disclosure/Civil Complaints - Citizen Square - Gukmin Saenggakham" menu. Outstanding contributors will receive mobile gift certificates.
The fields for submission include: ▲ projects with unique characteristics that can resonate with donors ▲ projects for the welfare of residents such as children, youth, and vulnerable groups ▲ projects to promote culture, arts, and health ▲ projects that contribute to the revitalization of the local community, such as citizen participation and volunteering.
In addition to the public call for ideas, the city is also conducting an internal search for ideas across all city hall departments. Submitted proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by the relevant departments and will be finally selected as projects through deliberation by the Hometown Love Fund Management Review Committee.
Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "We will strive to discover unique and sustainable projects that are distinctive to Sacheon and can satisfy both donors and citizens," adding, "We look forward to many creative and feasible proposals, and we kindly ask for active participation in donations as well."
Meanwhile, this year Sacheon City is implementing five major projects using Hometown Love donations: ▲ creating a nighttime walking trail that people want to use ▲ installing sensor-type solar-powered LED address information facilities ▲ establishing an aerospace corner in Sacheon City Library ▲ supporting nutritious meals and healthy aging ▲ providing congratulatory scholarships for out-of-school youth who pass the qualification exam.
