Donation to Disaster Relief Association for Flood Recovery and Victim Support
CJ CheilJedang and CJ Foodville Also Provide Relief Supplies Such as Ready-to-Eat Meals
On July 22, CJ announced that it would donate 500 million won in relief funds to support people affected by the nationwide heavy rainfall.
This relief fund will be delivered through the National Disaster Relief Association and will be used for the restoration of areas damaged by heavy rain, the provision of relief supplies to disaster victims, and support for emergency housing facilities.
Major CJ affiliates are also helping residents in affected areas by providing relief supplies. CJ CheilJedang plans to supply emergency relief packages consisting of about 10,000 products, including ready-to-eat meals (HMR) such as Hetbahn and Bibigo soup dishes, as well as snacks like Matbam, to the affected regions.
Since July 18, CJ Foodville has urgently delivered 7,600 Tous Les Jours breads and beverages to regions heavily damaged by the heavy rainfall, including Dangjin-si, Asan-si, and Yesan-gun in South Chungcheong Province, and Sancheong-gun in South Gyeongsang Province. A volunteer group composed of CJ Foodville employees has also participated in the relief efforts.
A CJ representative stated, "We would like to express our deepest condolences to everyone affected by the sudden heavy rainfall, and we hope our support will help the affected areas recover quickly and return to normal life as soon as possible."
