To Be Held in Taipei in August and LA in October
150 Million Overseas Users
"Continuing Global Expansion of the IP"
Nexon announced on July 22 that it will hold the 'MapleCon (MAPLE CON) 2025' festival celebrating the MapleStory intellectual property (IP) in Taiwan next month.
MapleCon is a large-scale franchise festival that brings together the MapleStory IP in one place. The first event, held last December at Ilsan KINTEX, attracted about 10,000 visitors over three days and received an enthusiastic response.
This year, the festival will be held in Taiwan and the United States to celebrate the 20th anniversary of MapleStory's service in these regions. The event is designed to communicate with local users and share memories and excitement built through MapleStory.
MapleStory has established itself as a global IP, with a cumulative overseas user base reaching 150 million. Nexon plans to further strengthen the recognition of the MapleStory IP abroad through this MapleCon and to continue expanding the IP's reach.
MapleCon, scheduled for August 2-3 in Taipei, Taiwan, will feature an official merchandise store, Maple Island-themed installations and photo booths, a merchandise customization program, user participation stage events, and sales of secondary creative works. In addition, the event will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for "the largest human Orange Mushroom," with more than 2,000 participants. Previously, in 2017, a local event was registered in the Guinness Book of Records for "the largest human Maple Leaf."
Afterward, MapleCon will continue at the end of October in Los Angeles (LA), United States. As in Taiwan, a variety of activities will be offered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the global MapleStory service. Further details about the overseas MapleCon events can be found on the official MapleStory websites for each region.
