Nicolas Paris Appointed as New CEO of Renault Korea
Stefan Deblaise to Lead Renault Group India as CEO
On July 21, Renault Group announced that it has appointed Nicolas Paris as the new CEO of Renault Korea. Stefan Deblaise, who is currently serving as President of Renault Korea, will move to the position of CEO for Renault Group India.
Paris, who will lead Renault Korea starting in September, has accumulated over 20 years of extensive experience in procurement and leadership within the global automotive industry. He graduated from Reims Management School in France, worked at the global automotive parts company ZF (ZF Lenkysteme), and joined Renault Group in 2015.
He has held a variety of key positions at the group’s major operations, including Vice President in charge of A-segment procurement for the India subsidiary and Head of Procurement for the Innovation Lab at the China subsidiary. Since 2023, he has served as Vice President overseeing procurement for batteries, E-powertrains, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), connectivity, software, and electronic components, contributing to Renault Group’s technological innovation and transition to electric vehicles.
Deblaise, who took office in 2022, was appointed CEO for the India region in recognition of his successful launch of Renault Korea’s long-term initiative, the Aurora Project.
Under Deblaise’s leadership, Renault Korea was recognized as a key development and production hub for Renault Group’s mid- to large-sized vehicles, thereby strengthening its position within the group. Deblaise led the strategic restructuring of the R&D center, Renault Technology Korea, and upgraded the Busan plant to enable the production of internal combustion engine, hybrid, and electric vehicles on a single line, laying the foundation for future competitiveness.
In April of this year, the company removed 'Samsung' from its name and focused on infusing Renault Korea with Renault Group’s identity. By introducing Renault’s 'Lozenge' logo and unveiling the flagship store Renault Seongsu and a new showroom concept, the company actively pursued brand reinforcement in Korea.
A Renault Korea official stated, “Deblaise’s appointment as CEO for Renault Group India reflects the group’s trust in his leadership and demonstrates Renault Group’s strategy to emphasize the importance of India as a key growth market.”
Currently, Renault Group India employs approximately 40,000 people, and Deblaise’s official term as CEO of the India subsidiary will begin in September.
