The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education held the 'IB Career Concert' in Naju on July 19, providing an opportunity for local education community members to resolve their questions about the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
The event was attended by about 80 people, including parents, students, and faculty members. Lee Miyoung, author of 'Going to University with IB' and a teacher at an international school in Singapore, delivered a special lecture on the topic 'Why IB Now: From Holistic Growth to College Admission.'

In the following talk concert, Kim Sohye, a student at the University of Seoul, and Chun Jiweon, a student at Yonsei University?both of whom completed the IB Diploma Programme (DP)?participated as panelists. They shared their vivid experiences with the IB curriculum and their successful college admissions stories, receiving an enthusiastic response from the audience.
In particular, administrators and IB coordinators from Najugeumcheon Middle School, Bonghwang High School, and Jeonnam Foreign Language High School, all of which are preparing for World School accreditation in the second half of this year, attended the event. They provided practical guidance on the IB curriculum through individual and group counseling sessions.
One parent who attended the event said, "My child became interested in IB after hearing about it firsthand," and added, "The vivid explanations from current teachers and graduates were impressive." Another parent suggested, "It would be great if students considering enrolling in IB schools had more opportunities to experience the IB program in advance."
In response, the provincial office announced plans to promote the 'IB Linked Education Camp' based on its strategy for connecting IB programs across elementary, middle, and high schools.
Kim Younggil, Director of Future Education, stated, "We will ensure that IB takes root in Jeonnam's education system and realize glocal (global+local) education that reaches out to the world." He added, "Through IB, we will enhance teachers' expertise in instruction and assessment and actively support school sites."
