Gyeongbuk Office of Education, Over 40 Employees Join Blood Donation... Value of Life Sharing Should Take Root in Education Field

On July 21, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) held the 'Life Sharing and Blood Donation Campaign' at the west-side bus parking lot of the office, with about 40 employees voluntarily participating in group blood donation.

This event was the second life-sharing initiative following the first blood donation campaign held in February, and was organized in cooperation with the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross.

Amid growing difficulties in securing blood supplies due to a decrease in the blood donor population and an increase in the number of critically ill transfusion patients, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education is taking the lead in promoting a culture of respect for life and sharing through its blood donation campaign.

Employees who participated in the blood donation were able to receive basic health checks, including blood type, hepatitis, and liver function tests. They also enjoyed various benefits, such as recognition of four hours of regular learning, a blood donation certificate, and commemorative gifts.

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education regularly holds the 'Love Blood Donation Campaign' two to three times a year and also presents awards to outstanding staff blood donors, thereby contributing to the spread of a blood donation culture.

Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education, said, "I deeply appreciate the employees who voluntarily participated in the blood donation campaign despite the blood supply crisis during the summer," adding, "We will continue to promote regular blood donation activities so that the value of life sharing can take root in the educational field."
