Ulju County Mobilizes All Resources for Water Outage Caused by Heavy Rain... Deploys 20 Water Supply Vehicles

County Governor Lee Sungul:
"All Administrative Resources Will Be Mobilized
to Minimize Inconvenience for Residents"

Ulju County in Ulsan has mobilized all available water supply vehicles and personnel to carry out emergency restoration efforts in response to a large-scale water outage caused by recent heavy rainfall.

According to Ulju County on July 21, torrential rains from July 17 to 19 damaged water transmission pipelines, resulting in water supply disruptions in six towns and townships: Eonyang-eup, Samnam-eup, Samdong-myeon, Sangbuk-myeon, Dudong-myeon, and Duseo-myeon. Water supply was cut off in these areas starting in the morning of July 20.

In response, Ulju County urgently deployed eight private water supply vehicles to provide drinking water and dispatched an additional twelve wildfire response vehicles to supply household water to each affected household. The county also temporarily opened the civil defense emergency water supply facilities at Namcheon Park in Eonyang-eup and the Ulju County Sports Center to improve residents' access to water.

Bottled water is also being distributed in parallel to minimize inconvenience to daily life. Ulju County is sending staff from the main office and local town offices to deliver six 2-liter bottles of water per household directly to homes in the affected areas.

On this day, County Governor Lee Sungul visited the Eonyang-eup Administrative Welfare Center to directly check the bottled water distribution process, stating, "We will focus all administrative resources to help residents affected by the water outage return to their daily lives as soon as possible," and added, "We will promptly implement measures to reduce inconvenience for residents."

Ulju County has also begun restoring the damaged water transmission pipelines in the affected areas and is formulating additional measures to prevent further flood damage. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, intermittent rainfall is expected to continue in the Ulsan area through this weekend.
