'2025 Global Fellowship' Applications Open Until the 17th
"Actively Fostering Global Talent Connecting Korea and the World"
On July 21, the Hansei YES24 Cultural Foundation announced that it is accepting applications for the '2025 Global Fellowship' scholarship program.
Since 2005, the Hansei YES24 Cultural Foundation has been running a 'Foreign Student Scholarship' program, selecting international graduate students studying in Korea each year and providing them with scholarships. To date, more than 130 students from 32 countries?including Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Nicaragua, Russia, France, Egypt, and Nigeria?have received scholarships through this initiative.
Beginning this year, the program has been rebranded as the 'Global Fellowship,' expanding its scope to provide not only scholarships but also integrated support, including networking and exchange programs among fellows, as well as opportunities to participate in various exhibitions, performances, and cultural events.
The Global Fellowship selects recipients in three categories: Content Creator, Language Communication, and Cultural Planning. International students who are enrolled in or have been accepted to a master's program in Korea are eligible to apply, regardless of major. However, students in special or professional graduate programs are excluded, and applicants must not have any disqualifying factors for staying in Korea. Applicants for the Content Creator category must submit the address of their personal social networking service (SNS) channel, while those applying for the Language Communication category are required to submit language proficiency test scores.
Applications can be submitted online via the Hansei YES24 Cultural Foundation website from July 18 to August 17. Final recipients will be selected through a document review and an online interview. The results will be announced on September 12 via the foundation's website and through individual notifications. Selected fellows will receive a scholarship of 2 million won per semester, up to a total of 10 million won over a maximum of five semesters.
Baek Sumi, Chairperson of the Hansei YES24 Cultural Foundation, stated, "Starting this year, we have expanded our longstanding scholarship program for international students to the 'Global Fellowship,' which offers not only financial support but also a variety of cultural experiences and exchange opportunities. We will continue to support international students from around the world so that they can grow into global talents who connect Korea with the world."
The Hansei YES24 Cultural Foundation is a social contribution foundation established by Kim Dongnyeong, Chairman of Hansei YES24 Holdings, through a personal endowment. The foundation also runs various scholarship programs, including the Uidang Scholarship, which supports outstanding high school students attending schools in Eumbong-myeon, Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and the 'Seoul Business Achievement Scholarship,' which provides tuition support to high-achieving students at the College of Business Administration at Seoul National University.
