Up to 7.7% Annual Interest Rate...
Preferential Rates Offered in Partnership with Shinhan Card and the Digital Baseball Platform "SOL Baseball"
Shinhan Bank announced on July 21 that it will offer an additional 100,000 accounts of the "1982 Legendary Installment Savings" product, which recently received an enthusiastic response from customers.
Shinhan Bank launched the "1982 Legendary Installment Savings" on July 1 to commemorate its 43rd anniversary (July 7). All 100,000 accounts were sold out within just four days due to strong customer demand. As the special installment savings product created for the anniversary sold out early, the bank began offering an additional 100,000 accounts from July 7, which also sold out within 10 days due to continued customer interest.
Although the bank initially offered a total of 200,000 high-interest installment savings accounts, continued customer inquiries about further sales led to the decision to offer additional accounts, driven by the popularity of this KBO League-linked specialized savings product.
The "1982 Legendary Installment Savings" is a one-year free installment savings product that allows monthly deposits of up to 300,000 won. Both individual and sole proprietor customers are eligible to open an account. The product offers a base annual interest rate of 3.0%, with preferential rates of up to an additional 4.7 percentage points, for a maximum annual rate of 7.7%.
The preferential interest rates are available to Shinhan Card and "SOL Baseball" users as follows: an annual rate of 4.2% for new Shinhan credit cardholders who meet the spending requirement for three months or more, or an annual rate of 3.5% for Shinhan credit/debit cardholders who meet the spending requirement for six months or more; and an annual rate of 0.5% for setting a cheering team within the "SOL Baseball" digital baseball platform in Shinhan SOL Bank.
To commemorate both the product launch and the founding year of the KBO League, Shinhan Bank is also running a related event with a total prize pool of 198.2 million won (reflecting the year 1982).
For this event, customers who newly subscribe to the "1982 Legendary Installment Savings" and correctly predict the final winner of the KBO Korean Series will share a total prize of 178.2 million won, which will be distributed equally among all participating customers. Additionally, 1,000 customers will be selected by lottery from all event participants to receive 20,000 MyShinhan Points each (worth a total of 20 million won).
Shinhan Bank CEO Jung Sanghyuk said, "We are grateful for the support for this 43rd anniversary commemorative product, which we launched to share greater enjoyment with baseball fans," and added, "We will continue to do our best to develop products and services for everyone who chooses Shinhan."
