Kim Dongyeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, will visit the Woncheon-dong Community Service Center in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, at 2:00 p.m. on July 21, the first day of applications for the 'Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon,' to inspect the issuance process and related operations.
The Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon is a consumption-promoting public welfare policy implemented by the Lee Jaemyung administration for all citizens. To ensure the smooth implementation of this project, which aims to revitalize the local economy and increase sales for small business owners, Gyeonggi Province has formed a dedicated task force (TF) in cooperation with city and county governments, and is jointly operating both a stable issuance system and an on-site response system.
On this day, Governor Kim Dongyeon will inspect the application procedures and the operation of the issuance system on site, and will communicate directly with residents applying for the consumption coupon to listen to any inconveniences or suggestions for policy improvement.
The consumption coupon is provided to all citizens, with each person eligible to receive a minimum of 150,000 won and up to 550,000 won. Recipients can choose to receive the coupon in the form of a local gift certificate (local currency), a prepaid card, or a credit/debit card.
The coupon can be used at small businesses within the recipient's local city or county jurisdiction that have annual sales of 3 billion won or less. However, usage is restricted for certain business types, including large supermarkets, department stores, and entertainment or gambling-related sectors.
The first application period runs from July 21 to September 12, and applications can be submitted either in person or online. Residents who wish to receive the coupon via credit or debit card can apply through their card company's website, app, call center, or ARS, or by visiting a bank branch affiliated with their card.
Those who wish to receive the Gyeonggi local currency can apply online via the Gyeonggi local currency app or website. At the local community service centers in their residential area, residents can apply for and receive either the Gyeonggi local currency or a prepaid card.
Appeals can be submitted during the same period, and the issued consumption coupons must be used by November 30. The second round of applications and distribution will take place from September 22 to October 31.
Gyeonggi Province is actively supporting the distribution of these consumption coupons to ensure smooth implementation at the local level.
