The Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byungjun) announced on July 21 that singer Lim Youngwoong donated a total of 200 million won under the name of his fan club, "Youngwoong Era," to support disaster victims and local communities affected by heavy rainfall.
This donation was made with 100 million won contributed by Lim Youngwoong and an additional 100 million won from his agency, Mulgochi Music. The funds will be used for emergency relief, temporary housing, livelihood support, and recovery efforts for disaster victims impacted by torrential rains across the country.
Lim Youngwoong stated, "My heart feels heavy thinking of those whose daily lives have been threatened and who are enduring each day in anxiety due to the sudden downpours. Although it is a small gesture, I hope it brings some comfort, and I sincerely wish for everyone to recover their daily lives as soon as possible."
Lim Youngwoong also donated to the Community Chest of Korea under the name of "Youngwoong Era" in March of this year to support recovery efforts for wildfire damage. At that time, he participated together with his agency, Mulgochi Music, to aid in the relief and recovery of disaster victims in the affected regions. Since 2021, he has consistently practiced sharing through the Community Chest of Korea, and the total cumulative amount he has donated, including this latest contribution, has reached 2.3 billion won. In particular, he has extended support in a wide range of areas, including: assistance for large-scale wildfire damage in North Gyeongsang and Gangwon provinces; emergency support for flood victims caused by heavy rainfall; and living expenses for vulnerable groups during winter, thereby helping to address both disasters and social welfare blind spots.
The fan club "Youngwoong Era" has also joined the Community Chest of Korea's "Nanum Leaders Club" and continues to make regular donations. Additionally, members are actively engaged in volunteer work, coal briquette sharing, and providing daily necessities in various regions, thereby spreading positive influence. The joint donation efforts of Lim Youngwoong and his fans are regarded as an exemplary model of a donation culture created together by artists and fandoms.
The Community Chest of Korea is conducting a special fundraising campaign to support those affected by heavy rainfall until August 17.
