Dobong District in Seoul (District Mayor Oh Eunseok) announced on July 21 that it is focusing its administrative resources on recovering from flood damage caused by heavy rainfall, which brought a cumulative precipitation of 261mm to the area from July 16 to July 20.

According to Dobong District, after the heavy rain advisory for the Seoul area was lifted on the morning of July 19, Dobong District Mayor Oh Eunseok personally visited major river damage sites, including Jungnangcheon and the Dobongcheon riverside trail, on July 19 and 20 to inspect the situation.

Due to the heavy rainfall, river areas such as Jungnangcheon suffered from sediment accumulation caused by flooding, the inflow of various debris, and damage to some riverside facilities. In response, the district immediately deployed personnel and equipment to carry out river and trail maintenance, facility restoration, and cleaning operations.

At the site, Mayor Oh Eunseok stated, "The safety and daily life recovery of our residents is the top priority," and instructed the heads of related departments to "concentrate all available resources and capabilities on recovery efforts to minimize inconvenience to residents."

Previously, during the period of heavy rainfall, the district operated the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Situation Room, remotely restricted access to rivers, and operated a river patrol team, taking proactive field management measures that prevented casualties. Currently, the district is swiftly assessing damage and conducting recovery not only along Jungnangcheon and Dobongcheon, but also at construction sites, landslide-prone areas, and other flood-vulnerable locations.

Mayor Oh Eunseok emphasized, "We are shifting our response system to focus on recovery, and we will do our utmost in restoration efforts so that residents can return to their daily lives as quickly as possible."
