A man in his 60s, who was urgently arrested for shooting his son with a homemade gun in Songdo, Incheon, was found to have a large quantity of explosives at his residence, prompting a police response.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 21st, the man testified during the investigation after his emergency arrest that he had also installed explosives at his residence in Ssangmun-dong, Dobong-gu, Seoul.

As a result, the police special forces were immediately dispatched to the man's residence to search for explosives. At the scene, they discovered and removed 15 containers of flammable materials.
During this process, the police evacuated all 105 residents of the building as a precaution against any possible incidents.

Previously, at around 9:31 p.m. the previous day, a report was received regarding a shooting incident at an apartment in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon.
The Incheon Yeonsu Police Station urgently arrested a man in his 60s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of murder. Mr. A is accused of firing a homemade gun at his son, Mr. B, who is in his 30s, at an apartment in Songdo International City, Yeonsu-gu, resulting in his death.
After committing the crime, Mr. A fled the scene. The police, responding to the report, apprehended Mr. A in the Gangnam area of Seoul at around 12:20 a.m., approximately three hours after the report was received.
It was reported that Mr. A, who lived separately from his son, took the firearm with him when he went to his son's home to commit the crime.
A police official stated, "We plan to investigate how the suspect came into possession of the homemade gun and the motive for the crime."
