Honam University announced on July 20 that it conducted the "2025 University-Linked Student Leader Overseas Volunteer Program" in the Ho Chi Minh City area of Vietnam.
The volunteer activities, which took place from July 10 to 16, were designed so that university students could practice the core values of overseas volunteering, such as sustainable sharing and cultural exchange, starting from the planning stage and pre-departure training. The volunteer group, led by student leaders from Honam University, engaged warmly with local children through experiential programs focused on education and culture.
On July 12, the Honam University volunteer group operated Korean culture experience booths and carried out cultural exchange activities at Van Lang University in Ho Chi Minh City, including Korean language education volunteering, traditional Korean games, and K-POP dance follow-along sessions.
On July 13, at the Hometown Humanitarian Center Orphanage located in the Tan Long district on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, the group conducted Korean language education, art classes, traditional Korean games, and a soccer class for 204 children. On July 14, they ran the same programs for 108 children at the Phu Linh Am Jibong Orphanage in the Long Tan area, spending an enjoyable time together.
Kim Jinwoo, president of the Honam University Student Council, said, "This volunteer activity was a valuable experience that helped student leaders develop a sense of community and global awareness. We will continue to practice sharing in a wider world through ongoing international volunteer work and cultural exchange."
