The signing ceremony was attended by Youngsook Cho, Director of Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services, Wooseok Jang, Head of Food Business Division at Hyundai Department Store, and other key officials. Through this agreement, the parties committed to making multifaceted efforts to increase farmers' income by securing stable sales channels. These efforts include discovering new varieties of agricultural products from Gyeongbuk, jointly planning marketing initiatives, promoting quality certification and co-branding, and conducting ongoing promotional activities through both online and offline distribution channels.
In addition, Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services plans to leverage its own variety development capabilities and research achievements to produce superior agricultural products. Hyundai Department Store, for its part, will develop strategies to expand the market and increase consumer satisfaction by focusing on planning, promotion, and sales from the consumer's perspective.
In particular, newly developed Gyeongbuk grape varieties that have recently attracted significant attention?such as 'Goldsweet', 'Redclaret', and 'Glorystar'?will be supplied first through Hyundai Department Store's distribution network, followed by nationwide promotion and sales campaigns.
To this end, a promotional event for these new grape varieties will be held from August 14 to August 17 at Hyundai Department Store's Mokdong branch in Seoul and Pangyo branch in Gyeonggi Province. At the event, visitors will be able to sample and purchase the newly developed grapes on-site, and live commerce broadcasts will also be conducted to expand engagement with online consumers.
Youngsook Cho, Director of Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services, stated, "This agreement is a representative example of regional cooperation, combining the outstanding new variety development capabilities of Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services with a major distribution network. We will simultaneously achieve increased farm income and greater consumer satisfaction through premium quality agricultural products and distribution innovation."
