The special prosecutor's office announced in a press release that day, "We are currently questioning former Minister Cho."
The special prosecutor's team reportedly called in former Minister Cho as a reference witness to verify the circumstances of the Cabinet meeting held before and after the December 3, 2024 martial law declaration.
At that time, a total of 11 people attended the Cabinet meeting, including former Minister Cho, former Prime Minister Han Ducksoo, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sangmok, former Minister of Justice Park Sungjae, former Minister of National Defense Kim Yonghyun, former Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sangmin, and Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Song Miryeong.
Former Minister Cho was among those who attended the Cabinet meeting just before the martial law declaration and received a note from former President Yoon regarding martial law response measures. He previously stated at the National Assembly and elsewhere that, after hearing about former President Yoon's plan to declare martial law, he urged him to reconsider.
