During a recent visit to the Bukahyeon-dong Community Center as part of the "On-site Civil Service Office" program, Mayor Seongheon Lee delivered a congratulatory letter and a message of encouragement to the father of the multi-child family. The Seodaemun District Family Center presented gifts to celebrate the birth, including diapers and newborn indoor clothing. Considering the mother's health, the congratulatory meeting was held at the community center instead of a home visit.

This family, now consisting of four sons and one daughter for a total of seven members, has become a large family with the birth of the fifth child. Since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration, the district has been implementing various policies aimed at making Seodaemun a great place to raise children, such as operating a public postpartum care center, providing pregnancy congratulatory grants, encouraging paternity leave with incentives, and training childcare helpers.

The family with the fifth child will receive childbirth and childcare support worth approximately 40 million won. The main support includes a 3 million won "First Meeting Voucher," 3 million won for Seoul-type postpartum care expenses, 18 million won in parental allowance (for ages 0-1), 9.6 million won in child allowance (for ages 0-7), 220,000 won for the "Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi" (for ages 0-1), 5 million won in home childcare allowance (when caring for children aged 2-6 at home), a Multi-Child Happiness Card, and a 600,000 won entrance gift certificate for families with two or more children entering elementary school.

Mayor Seongheon Lee stated, "We will continue to strengthen practical support for families with multiple children and further expand child-rearing friendly initiatives, such as the construction of the Hongje Falls Kids Cafe and the Comprehensive Childcare Support Center."
