Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station announced on the 18th that it held a ceremony to present appointment letters to new volunteer firefighters and conducted regular training sessions.
The ceremony, held on the 17th at the Korea Racing Authority Gwangju Branch, was attended by 35 newly appointed volunteer firefighters. The event included both the presentation of appointment letters to the 35 new members and regular training aimed at strengthening the professional capabilities of volunteer firefighters serving the local community.
The training was designed to enhance both disaster response and practical safety skills relevant to daily life. The main topics covered included: basic training for natural disaster preparedness (such as heavy rainfall), response guidelines for summer heat waves, prevention of safety accidents and fires related to companion animals, and hands-on training focused on everyday safety. These topics attracted significant interest and positive responses from the participants.
Chief Kim Youngil said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the volunteer firefighters who are quietly and faithfully serving as guardians of our community's safety," and added, "I hope that the 35 newly appointed members will also take pride in their roles and fulfill their duties with a strong sense of mission."
