Discussion on Amendments to the Electronic Financial Transactions Act and Issues and Development Directions for Stablecoins
The Korea Fintech Industry Association announced on July 18 that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Digital Economy Finance Forum will jointly host the "Venture Investment Forum for the Promotion of Fintech and Digital Assets" on July 24 at the Bankers' Club in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The event is organized by the Korea Fintech Industry Association and the Forum, with the Digital Economy Finance Research Institute serving as the main host. It is supported by institutions such as the Financial Services Commission, the Korea Financial Investment Association, and the Korea Venture Capital Association. Approximately 200 participants from academia, the legal community, policy experts, and industry representatives are expected to attend.
Session 1 will feature Hanjin Lee, attorney at Kim & Chang, presenting on "Changes in the Digital Finance Environment and Amendments to the Electronic Financial Transactions Act"; Hyeonggu Kang, professor at Hanyang University, discussing "Issues and Development Directions for KRW Stablecoins"; Byungyun Seo, head of research at DSRV Labs, speaking on "Utilization Plans for KRW Stablecoins in Light of Overseas Cases"; and Jonguk Oh, CEO of Wavebridge, presenting on "Institutional Investment in Digital Assets and Digital Financial Innovation."
Session 2 will include Kiback Lee, head of the Korea Venture Capital Association, on "Current Status of the Venture Industry and Fund Formation"; Inwoo Park, CEO of Compa Ventures, on "Key Investment Points in Venture Capital Investment"; Hari Yoon, managing director at JB Investment, on "Investment Cases and Implications in the Fintech and Blockchain Industries"; and Sehee Han, attorney at Barun Law, on "Key Considerations and Points in Investment Contracts."
The comprehensive discussion will be chaired by Yushin Chung, chair of the Forum. Participants will include Sihong Kim, Ph.D. at Lee & Ko, Minseop Yoon, Ph.D. at the Digital Consumer Research Institute, Taehun Kim, CEO of T Investment, and Haeseong Noh, head of Korea Growth Finance Investment Management. They will discuss key issues such as the Electronic Financial Transactions Act, stablecoins, and strategies for building a venture investment ecosystem.
