Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (President Song Pilho) announced on July 18 that Gyeonggi Expressway Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoon Hyeonho) has donated 12 million won to support the provision of the "EV Drill Lance," a firefighting device for electric vehicle fires.
The EV Drill Lance provided this time will be used not only in nearby residential areas through the Osan Fire Station but also at major highway accident sites such as the Seosuwon~Osan~Pyeongtaek Expressway and the Gyeongbu Expressway. Gyeonggi Expressway has maintained a close cooperative relationship with nearby fire stations on a regular basis. In January, the company also donated 11 million won to Hope Bridge to support the same equipment for the Hwaseong Fire Station.
Yoon Hyeonho, CEO of Gyeonggi Expressway Co., Ltd., said, "Given the reality that the national budget is insufficient, I believe the private sector must also play a role in ensuring public safety. After witnessing a series of incidents, including the Cheongna electric vehicle fire, I have come to realize the importance of an early response. This support for the EV Drill Lance is a practical step in that direction."
Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, stated, "The donation from Gyeonggi Expressway Co., Ltd. is a sincere commitment to public safety. Hope Bridge will also do its utmost to support and respond to protect the lives of the people."
