DGIST and Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Sign MOU for Joint Efforts to Promote a Culture of Integrity

DGIST (President Lee Gunwoo) announced on July 17 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (Chairman Yoo Cheolhwan) to collaborate on joint educational initiatives aimed at promoting a culture of integrity. The agreement was established to lay the foundation for educational programs that internalize integrity among university and graduate students?the next generation?and to strengthen the integrity capabilities of faculty and staff, as well as to enhance the system for protecting rights and interests within the university.


The two institutions plan to expand cooperation in various fields to promote a culture of integrity. This includes educational programs to establish values of integrity among university and graduate students, training to strengthen the integrity capabilities of university faculty and staff, collaboration to activate joint integrity education programs at the university level, the introduction of regular curriculum courses on integrity, and counseling and resolution of grievances for students and staff.

Lee Gunwoo, President of DGIST, stated, "Since science and technology have a significant impact on all aspects of society, we will pursue systematic integrity education in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission." He added, "By cultivating science and technology talent with not only outstanding technical skills but also the right values and a strong sense of integrity, we will contribute to sustainable development and the building of social trust."


Yoo Cheolhwan, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, said, "I hope that, through this agreement, DGIST students will grow into leaders of integrity and guide the development of science and technology in Korea in the right direction."


Meanwhile, DGIST is creating future value for the region and the nation through convergence research and innovative education. It has selected 'Physical AI,' 'Human Digital Twin,' and 'Quantum Sensing' as its three core future strategic fields, focusing on technology commercialization and the creation of an industrial ecosystem. In the QS World University Rankings, DGIST is recognized for its global research competitiveness, ranking fourth in the world and first in Korea in the 'number of citations per faculty' category. DGIST plans to continue strengthening cooperation with leading domestic and international institutions to become an innovative institution contributing to the advancement of national science and technology.
