Gokseong Governor Josangrae Holds Emergency Disaster Safety Meeting in Response to Heavy Rain Josangrae, Gokseong County Governor, is presiding over an emergency disaster safety countermeasure meeting in response to heavy rain on the afternoon of the 17th at the County Office Communication Maru, attended by heads of each department. Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Josangrae) announced on the 18th that it held an emergency disaster safety countermeasure meeting in response to heavy rain on the afternoon of the 17th at the County Office Communication Maru.


The emergency meeting, presided over by Governor Josangrae, was attended by heads of relevant departments and focused on discussing potential risks caused by the heavy rain. During the meeting, Governor Jo emphasized, "Protecting the lives and property of our residents is the top priority," and called for thorough preparation and prompt response from each department.


The main response strategies discussed at the meeting included: ▲pre-monitoring of vulnerable areas, ▲emergency inspection of drainage systems and hazardous roads, ▲continuous observation of areas at risk of river flooding, ▲special management of landslide-prone areas, and ▲real-time sharing of weather information and establishment of a rapid evacuation system.


The county switched all staff to emergency duty and continuously provided weather updates and safety guidelines to residents. In particular, the county focused on intensive management of high-risk areas such as low-lying and steep-sloped zones, supporting the safe evacuation of residents.


Governor Jo stressed, "Prevention and preparation are the best disaster response methods," and added, "As heavy rain is forecast through the weekend, we will mobilize all administrative resources to ensure the safety of our residents."
