Samil PwC Successfully Hosts "Agri-Food Tech Startup IPO and M&A Strategy" Workshop

On July 18, Samil PwC announced that it had successfully hosted a workshop focused on initial public offering (IPO) and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategies for agri-food tech startups at the "2025 Agri-Food Tech Startup Expo," held on July 17 at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

This workshop went beyond simply providing information, offering insights into the latest IPO trends in the food industry, analysis of real-life success stories, tailored diagnostics for individual companies, and even one-on-one consulting sessions, which were met with an enthusiastic response from participants. More than 50 representatives from agri-food tech startups attended the event.


In the first session, Seunghoon Lee, F&B Industry Leader (Partner) at Samil PwC, provided a detailed introduction to valuation methods, IPO procedures and requirements, and strategies in response to policy changes, focusing on recent successful IPO cases within the industry. Lee emphasized, "A successful IPO begins with thorough preparation and an understanding of market trends," sharing case studies and key success factors.


In the second session, Partner Sangtae Park discussed "M&A Trends and Analysis of M&A Cases in the Food Industry," explaining this year's M&A market outlook and strategies. Park also presented successful acquisition and exit strategies by analyzing recent M&A cases and actual exit (investment recovery) examples in the food sector.


At the event, Samil PwC distributed its "F&B Accounting, Tax, and Finance Guidebook," designed to provide practical assistance for the financial management of participating companies. The guidebook covers essential knowledge for startups, including accounting and tax issues specific to the food industry.


One-on-one consulting meetings with Samil PwC experts also drew attention. Through these sessions, participating companies were able to discuss practical concerns regarding IPOs and M&As with professionals and receive tailored advice on accounting and tax challenges. Lee commented, "Samil PwC will continue to work together with agri-food startups to address common challenges and provide strategies and solutions for sustainable growth."
