Gwangju City Successfully Concludes "Dream Meeting Day" with Over 1,700 Job Seekers Flocking In

Over 300 Companies Including Korea Power Exchange Offer Work Experience Opportunities

The "Youth Work Experience Dream Meeting Day" event, hosted by Gwangju City, received an enthusiastic response as it was held for three days from July 14 to 16 on the first floor citizen hall of City Hall. Over 300 companies, including Korea Power Exchange, Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation, and Alps Korea, participated in the event, offering employment opportunities to local youth.

Around 1,700 young job seekers gathered at the venue, demonstrating their strong desire for employment. Participants visited various company booths, received career counseling, and had interview opportunities. Some young people even proceeded directly with hiring procedures on site.

The highlight of this event was the selection of 400 young people as the "18th Dream Youth" cohort. The selected youth will participate in a five-month work experience program from August to December. The results of the selection will be announced on July 24 on the Gwangju Youth Integrated Platform, the Gwangju Youth Work Experience Dream website, and the Gwangju City website.

This youth employment support program by Gwangju City goes beyond simple job placement, focusing on career exploration and strengthening job competencies for young people. The selected youth will receive systematic support through pre-job training and mentoring programs.

Kim Kisuk, Director of the Education and Youth Bureau, said, "The Work Experience Dream project has consistently supported over 7,600 young people in Gwangju to gain direct workplace experience and clarify their career paths," and added, "We will continue to provide policy support so that young people can find jobs and grow in the local community."
