Strength in Communication Across Party Lines
Considering Running for Jeonnam Governor Next Year
Kim Hwajin, the current Chairman of the People Power Party's National Integration Committee, has been elected as Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Party Committee.
On July 17, the People Power Party held an emergency committee meeting (hereafter referred to as the Emergency Committee) and approved the election of Kim Hwajin, who ran unopposed in the Jeonnam Provincial Party Committee chairman election, along with the election of chairpersons for 13 provincial and metropolitan party committees nationwide, who were selected through regional party conventions.
According to party regulations, the term of office for the provincial party committee chairman officially begins and lasts for one year.
Kim Hwajin, now serving a third term as Jeonnam Provincial Party Committee Chairman, is recognized for his outstanding ability to communicate with both National Assembly members and local government heads, transcending party lines.
To reform the provincial party organization, Kim Hwajin has established an executive committee and special committees, and plans to hold meetings with party members in each of the 22 cities and counties in Jeonnam to gather their opinions.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Kim Hwajin is planning to run in next year's Jeonnam gubernatorial election.
