Starting from July 18, the Incheon city government will increase the number of buses operating on the 3000 metropolitan bus route between Ganghwa Terminal and Sinchon Station by two, bringing the total number of buses in operation to 12.
The 3000 bus is the only route connecting Ganghwa Terminal to Seoul areas such as Magok Station, Hapjeong Station, and Sinchon Station, making it an essential metropolitan transportation option for Ganghwa residents. Previously, a total of 23 buses operated on this route, but since July 2024, the service has been split into Incheon’s 3000 route (8 buses) and Gimpo’s 3000-1 route (15 buses).
In December 2024, the city also increased the number of 3000 buses by two, reducing the interval between buses by five minutes, and has continued to expand the fleet. With the latest addition, the interval between buses during commuting hours is expected to decrease from 20 minutes to 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, the 3000 route, which is currently operated under the metropolitan M-bus fare system (800 won by card), will switch to the Incheon express seat fare (3,000 won by card for a regular adult) starting from the first bus on August 1, 2025, in order to maintain consistency in the fare system.
Kim Insu, Director of Transportation for Incheon, said, "Metropolitan buses are a key means of transportation that allow citizens to travel conveniently to Seoul, so we will continue to improve and supplement the service."
