The event, which will run for three days until July 20, will feature a record 192 athletes from 16 countries. The competition offers an opportunity to earn points toward qualification for the 2028 LA Olympics. Both the 'Shortboard QS6000 Points Event' and the 'Longboard LQS1000 Event' will be held simultaneously.

This is the second time an international competition is being held at Wave Park on Turtle Island. Previously, the WSL International Surfing Competition was held there in 2023.

Siheung City has also organized a variety of cultural events and hands-on programs in conjunction with the tournament. On July 18 and 19, the '2025 Siheung Summer Beat Festival,' a DJing event, will take place at the special plaza in Wave Park. The festival will feature DJ performances by Park Myungsoo, Soda, and others, as well as busking performances. During the tournament, there will also be a surfing experience zone, a flea market, and paddleboard and kayak experience programs.

To ensure smooth viewing and convenient transportation, the city has secured free parking for approximately 2,700 vehicles and will operate a free shuttle bus circulating Turtle Island. Medical staff, safety personnel, and interpreters will also be stationed on site so that foreign participants and spectators can enjoy the event without inconvenience.

Lim Byeongtaek, Mayor of Siheung, stated, "This tournament is an important turning point for Siheung as it advances toward becoming a global marine tourism city," adding, "We hope it will be a festival where citizens and visitors can come together and enjoy."
