Clark Faces Severe Penalty at Oakmont CC for Damaging Door During US Open
Ordered to Pay Damages, Perform Charitable Work, and Submit Proof of Therapy
World No. 28 Wyndham Clark (USA) has been banned from entering a golf course.
On July 16 (local time), USA Today and other American media outlets reported that Oakmont Country Club in the United States recently sent a letter to its members under the president's name, notifying them that Clark has been banned from entering the club. After missing the cut with an 8-over-par score following the second round of the US Open on July 14, Clark, unable to control his anger, damaged the clubhouse locker room door at the tournament venue.

In the letter, Oakmont Country Club stated, "After discussions with the United States Golf Association (USGA), we have decided to prohibit Clark from using our facilities," adding, "For Clark to regain access, he must provide compensation for damages, engage in charitable activities, and present proof that he has completed anger management therapy."
Although Clark apologized after breaking the locker room door in a fit of anger, Oakmont Country Club did not overlook the incident. In addition to requiring compensation for damages, the club also demanded that Clark undergo anger management therapy.
If Clark fails to meet the conditions set by Oakmont Country Club, it could significantly impact his future career as a player. Oakmont Country Club, which opened in 1903, is a historic golf course. It has hosted the US Open 10 times and will host the tournament again in 2033. Clark has achieved three career victories, including winning the 2023 US Open.
