Hana Bank Tops 2025 Foreign Exchange Transaction Volume, Sweeps All Categories

'2025 Foreign Exchange Market League Table' Announced
Shinhan Bank and Credit Agricole Bank Follow in the Rankings

The Bank of Korea and the Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on July 17 that Hana Bank ranked first in the "2025 Foreign Exchange Market League Table" released by the Seoul Foreign Exchange Market Operation Council.

In accordance with the "League Table (Foreign Exchange Transaction Volume Ranking) Implementation Plan" announced in March, the Seoul Foreign Exchange Market Operation Council will, starting this year, announce the top seven institutions by transaction volume. The ranking covers all participants in the foreign exchange market, including Registered Foreign Exchange Institutions (RFI), and is subdivided into the spot market, the foreign exchange swap market, and the overall category. The results reflect transaction volumes from July of last year to June of this year.


Hana Bank took first place. The bank ranked first not only in the overall category but also in both the spot market and the foreign exchange swap market.


Shinhan Bank and France's Credit Agricole Bank took second and third place, respectively. They were followed by Woori Bank in fourth, JPMorgan Chase Bank in fifth, KB Kookmin Bank in sixth, and BNP Paribas Bank in seventh. Among non-bank institutions, Meritz Securities ranked first.


The top three institutions by total transaction volume?Hana Bank, Shinhan Bank, and Credit Agricole Bank?are scheduled to receive institutional and individual commendations from the foreign exchange authorities.
