Asan Nanum Foundation's Silicon Valley Hub 'MaruSF' Surpasses 70% Completion, Opening in November

Networking Platform to Be Unveiled for the First Time at Opening Ceremony

On July 17, the Asan Nanum Foundation announced that construction progress for 'MaruSF,' its Silicon Valley hub established to support the entry of Korean startups into the United States, has surpassed 70%.

'MaruSF' is a short-term stay community hub being developed by the Asan Nanum Foundation in San Mateo, California. It is designed to enable Korean startups to intensively explore the U.S. local market over a short period, engage with the Silicon Valley startup ecosystem, and build networks. Since May of this year, MaruSF has been in pilot operation, welcoming the first batch of membership startups eligible to stay and use the facility. Prior to its official launch, the foundation is optimizing facilities, program structure, and overall operations.

MaruSF operates as a structure that combines short-term residential spaces with community-focused networking programs and events. The short-term residential area includes rooms and a shared lounge that can accommodate up to 30 people. Membership startups, during their one-year membership period, can stay and use the facility for up to 16 weeks. During this time, they can participate in programs and events that provide direct interaction with local entrepreneurs, investors, and experts from the Silicon Valley startup ecosystem.

The networking platform currently being built within MaruSF is scheduled to be unveiled for the first time at the opening ceremony in November. It will be used as a space to strengthen diverse exchanges and connections with local entrepreneurs, startups, investment partners, and stakeholders in the startup ecosystem.

Choi Yuna, Head of Management at the Asan Nanum Foundation, stated, "Through the current pilot operation of MaruSF, the Asan Nanum Foundation is refining the facilities and programs by incorporating the user experience of resident startups," adding, "With the official opening in November, MaruSF will be reborn as a more sophisticated space supporting global expansion."
