National Talent DB Updated Through Public Participation: "Register and Edit Your Information Directly"

On July 16, the Ministry of Personnel Management announced that it will operate a "National Talent DB Regular Update" period until September.

The National Talent DB is a "national personnel information" system that systematically registers and manages public office candidate information to enable the appointment of suitable talent for major government positions. As of the end of June 2025, a total of 388,742 individuals have been registered. Regular updates are conducted to keep talent information such as career backgrounds up to date.

During this period, guidance messages and emails will be sent to 200,000 individuals who are currently registered in the National Talent DB and have provided contact information. These individuals can either directly update their information on the National Talent DB website or send their resumes via email.

Those who are not yet registered in the National Talent DB can also register as new members. The Ministry of Personnel Management will also hold an event in which 500 participants who update their information or newly register will be selected by lottery to receive gift certificates.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Personnel Management uses the National Talent DB to support central government agencies, local governments, public institutions, and local public enterprises in selecting the best talent by recommending three to five suitable candidates when they request recommendations for committee members, open positions, or executive candidates. Last year, the Ministry recommended 73,022 candidates for a total of 18,043 positions, and both the number of recommended positions and candidates have been increasing each year.

To encourage more institutions to use the recommendation service, the Ministry held a "National Talent DB On-Site Briefing" for a total of 84 user institutions in the first half of this year. During the briefing, the Ministry listened to various opinions from institutional representatives, provided guidance on the recommendation process, and enhanced user convenience by streamlining ID issuance and approval procedures and improving the integrated search interface.

Choi Siyoung, Director of Talent Information, said, "The regular update is meaningful in making public office candidate information richer and more accurate," adding, "We hope that active public participation will further enhance the quality of the National Talent DB."
