Clarification: "As Part of Asset Management Plans"
Broadcaster Sugeun Lee has stated that the recent sale of a building in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, which was registered under his wife's name, was due to personal reasons unrelated to any family health issues.
On July 16, his agency Big Planet Made released an official statement saying, "Today's reports suggested that the sale of the building was related to raising medical expenses for the family, but this is not true. The sale was made based on personal investment decisions and asset management plans, and is not related to any specific personal matters or health issues."
Previously, on July 7, the land transaction platform ValueMap posted that Sugeun Lee had listed a three-story building in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul for sale. The building's total floor area is 229.88 square meters (approximately 69 pyeong), and the desired selling price is 3 billion won. As of June 27, ValueMap had assessed the building's value at 2.98 billion won.
The ownership of the building is under Sugeun Lee's wife, Jiyeon Park, while Sugeun Lee is registered as a debtor. The land ownership is jointly held by the couple. In 2011, the two purchased the building, which was then an old house, and remodeled it into its current form after changing its usage and expanding it. The maximum secured amount for the building is 864 million won, and the actual loan amount is estimated to be about 720 million won.
In the past, Park underwent a kidney transplant due to kidney disease, and recently revealed the possibility of a re-transplant.
