On July 16, Yoon's legal team announced to the press, "We will inform you of whether former President Yoon will attend the habeas corpus review after confirming this during a meeting with him the following day."

The Seoul Central District Court Criminal Appellate Division 9-2 (Presiding Judges Ryu Changseong, Jeong Hyewon, and Choi Bowon) has scheduled a hearing for former President Yoon at 10:15 a.m. on July 18.

The habeas corpus review is a procedure in which the court examines whether the detention of a suspect is lawful. After the petition is filed, the court must interrogate the suspect and review evidence within 48 hours to comprehensively reassess the requirements for detention.

The special prosecutor's team is expected to counter by emphasizing that there were no procedural or substantive issues in the detention process and that there have been no changes in circumstances since the detention.
