According to the Seocho Police Station in Seoul on July 16, at around 7:40 p.m. on July 11, a patrol team from the Banpo District Police Station was passing through Olympic-daero after handling a traffic violation report near the southern end of Banpo Bridge when they received an urgent request for help from a driver. Inside the vehicle was a pregnant woman who was due to give birth next month and was experiencing labor pains.
The guardian had reported the emergency to both 112 and 119, but due to heavy congestion during rush hour, it was expected that it would take considerable time for an ambulance to arrive. Upon assessing the situation, the patrol team transported the pregnant woman and her guardian to the hospital in their patrol car.
Subsequently, a traffic patrol car from Seocho Police Station arrived at the scene, took the lead, and began escorting the vehicle. The two cars passed through Olympic-daero and arrived at the emergency room of Asan Medical Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul. As the patrol car sounded its siren, vehicles filling the road gradually moved aside to make way.
The mother was transferred to the delivery room immediately upon arrival at the hospital and later gave birth to a healthy son. It has been reported that both the mother and the newborn are currently in good health without any complications.
