Chonnam National University Hospital announced on the 16th that it held the '8th Pacemaker Day' event.

The event, which took place on the morning of the 12th at the Myunghak Hall Auditorium of Chonnam National University College of Medicine, was attended by about 200 local residents.

This event was organized by the Department of Cardiology at Chonnam National University Hospital and hosted by the nonprofit organization Wooshim. Four arrhythmia specialists served as lecturers, providing a wide range of information about cardiac rhythm devices.

The event was chaired by Professors Jungkwan Cho and Hyungwook Park of the Department of Cardiology at Chonnam National University Hospital. The lectures covered the following topics: "What is Arrhythmia?" (Professor Hyungwook Park), "Types and Indications of Cardiac Rhythm Devices" (Professor Namsik Yoon), "Post-procedure Management of Cardiac Rhythm Devices: Daily Life" (Professor Kihong Lee), and "Post-procedure Management of Cardiac Rhythm Devices: Examinations and Procedures" (Professor Yuri Kim). After the lectures, there was a one-hour session to check the operation status and replacement timing of cardiac rhythm devices.

Cardiac rhythm devices include pacemakers for bradyarrhythmia that can cause syncope, defibrillators that prevent sudden death due to cardiac arrest, and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices that help restore heart function in end-stage heart failure.
