The Gwangju Metropolitan City Administrative Alumni Association (President Kang Wanggi) announced on the 16th that, at the invitation of the Hwasun County Culture and Tourism Foundation, it toured major cultural and tourist sites in Hwasun, including Jeokbyeok, on the 15th.
This tour was organized to allow members of the association to personally visit Hwasun's representative attractions, experience its natural and cultural heritage, and reflect together on the region's future development.
In particular, since Hwasun and Gwangju are neighboring regions that share a common living area, the tour was promoted as part of a win-win exchange aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and ties between the regions.
The group visited a variety of tourist destinations in Hwasun in succession, starting with the majestic scenery and tranquil waters of Hwasun Jeokbyeok, followed by Yeondun-ri Forest Village, known for its charming rural landscape, Hwasun Park Golf Course, which is gaining attention as a leisure space close to the city, and the Hwasun Dogok Local Food Direct Market, where local agricultural products are sold.
A representative of the Gwangju Administrative Alumni Association said, "This tour was more than a simple field trip; it was a meaningful opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Hwasun. By seeing and experiencing Hwasun's natural, cultural, and regional resources firsthand, we could truly appreciate the necessity and potential for regional solidarity."
Koo Jongcheon, CEO of the Hwasun County Culture and Tourism Foundation, stated, "It was very meaningful to have people with extensive administrative experience visit Hwasun in person. I hope this visit serves as an opportunity to widely promote Hwasun's cultural and tourism resources, and we will continue to pursue win-win development through ongoing exchanges with neighboring regions in the future."
The Gwangju Metropolitan City Administrative Alumni Association is an organization composed of retired public officials from Gwangju Metropolitan City and its autonomous districts. Drawing on their extensive administrative experience, the association continues to contribute to the local community through various advisory activities, exchange visits, and social contribution initiatives.
