E-Mart Holds 36% Discount Event on Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables with Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs

E-Mart announced on July 17 that it will hold a discount event for agricultural and livestock products for about three weeks starting on July 17, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

E-Mart plans to change the items each week, offering seasonal summer produce and agricultural products that have recently seen price increases at discounted prices. Customers who accumulate Shinsegae Points can receive an additional 20% discount supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, on top of E-Mart’s own 20% discount, allowing them to purchase products at approximately 36% off the regular price.

For the first week of the event, from July 17 to July 24, E-Mart has selected eight items: peaches, Kyoho grapes, tomatoes, radishes, napa cabbage, cucumbers, onions, and chives. Three types of peaches?'Soft Peach' (4-6 pieces per pack), 'Sweet Yellow Peach' (4-6 pieces per pack), and 'Crispy Peach' (4-6 pieces per pack)?will be sold at 7,936 won, which is a 36% discount from the regular price of 12,400 won, when Shinsegae Points are accumulated. 'Kyoho Grapes' (1kg per pack) will be available for 12,147 won, and 'Cherry Tomatoes' (1kg per pack) can be purchased for 5,747 won during the event with Shinsegae Points.

Vegetables that have recently seen price increases due to early heat waves and frequent heavy rain have also been included in the event. 'Trimmed Napa Cabbage' will be available for 3,827 won, which is 36% off with Shinsegae Points, and 'Radish' will be offered at 2,099 won each. 'White Cucumbers' (5 pieces per bag) will be sold for 3,187 won. Essential cooking vegetables such as 'Onion' (1.8kg per net) and 'Chives' (500g per bunch) will be available for 2,547 won and 1,587 won, respectively.

Gwak Daehwan, head of E-Mart’s agricultural products division, stated, “As agricultural product prices have been rising recently due to climate impacts and other factors, we have prepared this discount event in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to help lower perceived prices for consumers and expand sales channels for agricultural products. Through this three-week event, we will strive to offer seasonal summer fruits and essential vegetables at affordable prices.”
