Kyungdong Navien has introduced a product that not only purifies and ventilates air but also provides dehumidification. This product was developed in response to the increasing number of hot and humid days, now often described as subtropical, which have heightened the need for dehumidification to ensure comfortable indoor air. As it enables differentiated, year-round air quality management with a single device, it is being seen as a game-changer that could reshape the market landscape.

On July 17, Kyungdong Navien announced the launch of its new product, the Navien Dehumidifying Ventilation Air Purifier. Unveiled at a product launch event on July 16, this dehumidifying ventilation purifier is characterized by its ability to continuously maintain a relative humidity of 40 to 60 percent?considered the most comfortable range for people?without changing the indoor temperature.

The core technology is 'dual dehumidification.' First, the device uses refrigerant to condense moisture in the air into vapor. Second, it employs polymer dehumidification materials to adsorb moisture. As a result, it delivers outstanding dehumidification performance and can control humidity without altering the temperature. By maintaining a comfortable humidity level with the dehumidifying ventilation air purifier, users can experience a lower perceived temperature, reducing unnecessary air conditioning during summer. Hyunjoon Yoo, Professor of Architecture at Hongik University, explained, "By simply lowering humidity, you can create a comfortable and cool indoor environment while using less energy."

Its integrated air purification features are another advantage. The device manages not only fine dust and harmful gases but also indoor humidity, bacteria, and viruses, maintaining pleasant air quality throughout all seasons. It also expels polluted indoor air outside, recovering 88 percent of cooling energy and 79 percent of heating energy in the process, thereby contributing to energy savings. Incoming outdoor air is filtered through a five-stage purification system before being supplied indoors in a fresh state. This process also blocks incoming humidity in advance. All these steps are automatically managed by the 'Air Monitor,' which detects fine dust, ultrafine dust, radon, and humidity, and analyzes air quality in real time.

Consumer convenience has also been significantly improved. Humidity is managed via diffusers connected throughout the home, so users can control the air in the entire house with just one large-capacity, 28-liter dehumidifying ventilation air purifier, without having to move it between rooms or the living area. An automatic drainage system eliminates the hassle of emptying water tanks, a common inconvenience with traditional dehumidifiers.

Kyungdong Navien has decided to offer the dehumidifying ventilation air purifier as a subscription product to improve accessibility to its 'integrated air quality management solution.' This differentiated product will combine most indoor air quality functions?including air conditioning, dehumidification, air purification, and ventilation?into a single condensing air conditioner.
