This year, the days expected to be most congested during the "Daejeon 0si Festival" are projected to be the opening weekend (August 8-9) and the closing weekend (August 15-16) of the festival.

This projection is based on a comprehensive analysis by Daejeon Transportation Corporation of customer movement patterns and congestion levels, using subway boarding and alighting data from 22 stations and bus transfer data collected during the "0si Festival" periods in 2023 and 2024, in order to support the successful hosting of the festival.

The corporation has published on its website big data analysis results covering 160 million traffic volume cases, including 1.01 million subway users during last year's festival period.

According to the newly released analysis, the day with the highest usage last year was the first day of the festival, August 9, when hourly ridership at Jungangno Station ranged from a minimum of 3,100 to a maximum of 5,200 passengers, showing a clear concentration.

Based on these findings, the corporation predicts that the most congested days during this year's festival will be the opening weekend (August 8-9) and the closing weekend (August 14-15). The corporation also emphasized the need for advance publicity to encourage festival-goers to use Junggu Office Station, which is expected to be less crowded, as an alternative.

President Yeon Kyuyang stated, "As we enter the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the importance of public data is growing day by day, and we are continuously working on analyzing and utilizing transportation big data." He added, "We will actively share this analysis so that it can be a useful resource not only for establishing and researching Daejeon's transportation policies, but also for all citizens."

Meanwhile, the "2025 Daejeon 0si Festival," which has established itself as one of Korea's leading summer festivals, will take place from August 8 to 16 in the original downtown area of Daejeon.
